WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Public Private Strategies Institute (PPSI) and the U.S. Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This MOU is a collaboration between the two entities designed to expand public awareness of MBDA’s programs, priorities, and new initiatives, as well as the Biden-Harris Administration’s historic economic investments. Outreach efforts will focus on engaging minority and other underserved businesses.
MBDA and Public Private Strategies Institute will host a series of events that bring together senior Biden-Harris Administration officials, business leaders, nonprofit leaders, and minority business owners – these events will reach thousands of businesses across the MBDA and PPSI networks.
In addition, Public Private Strategies Institute has engaged with the Department of Commerce in a similar partnership to connect business owners with department resources, information, programs, and funding opportunities.
Rhett Buttle, President, Public Private Strategies Institute:
“Major investments like the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, CHIPS & Science Act, and Inflation Reduction Act have enabled the MBDA and DOC to rapidly scale and deploy new programs and funding opportunities for businesses across the country. In order for these opportunities to be implemented efficiently, effectively, and equitably, there needs to be dedicated and consistent outreach and education to help diverse constituencies access these generational investments.
“That’s why PPSI is so excited about this partnership to engage our diverse network of thousands of business owners to expand public awareness of these opportunities.”
Under Secretary Don Cravins Jr., U.S. Minority Business Development Agency:
“Over the past two years, the Minority Business Development Agency has continued to deliver historic investments, initiatives, and opportunities to America’s minority and underserved businesses,” said Donald R. Cravins, Jr., Under Secretary of Commerce for Minority Business Development. “This includes our recently launched MBDA Capital Readiness Program, the largest-ever Federal investment in small business incubators and accelerators of its kind. These investments can transform communities and strengthen our economy, but only if they are readily accessible to the businesses we serve. The Public Private Strategies Institute will help expand MBDA’s outreach efforts to provide entrepreneurs with the knowledge they need to access the Biden-Harris Administration’s generational investments and build successful businesses.”
